Hard to beat this on a work day

A book, a latté, a park bench, and some sunshine--what more can a girl ask for before work?

Fish in Sunny Seattle

I've walked by here dozens of times before and somehow managed to not notice these scary little guys until today.

Ok, so the title should really be "Fish and Sea Mammals in Sunny Seattle." I sat on a bench here bundled in my jacket and read a chapter of my book. I looked up at one point and realized I was the only one there who wasn't wearing a T-shirt or a tank top. Guess I still have a way to go before I can be a true Seattleite.

And of course here's one of my favorite views from one of my favorite places, Pier 66. No mountain today, but who's complaining--there's sun!

Herman has software

I finally installed the software for my workout buddy, Herman. It's pretty cool--it shows a map of everywhere I run as well as graphs of my pace, speed, elevation or heartrate (choose two). Here's a screenshot showing yesterday's run to Fred Meyer in Ballard via the waterfront, Discovery Park, and the locks. Neat, eh? The GPS has trouble finding satellites downtown, but it seemed to pick up just fine by the time I made it down to the waterfront.
