Not for indoor use

Guess where I went this evening! Well, I had to take advantage of the 20% off sale, didn't I? (It ends Apr 2--have you been to REI yet this month?) I listened to schpiels from four different REI associates of varying opinions and knowledgability about backpacking stoves and I finally settled on:

Snow Peak! Uses multi-fuel canisters, has an automatic starter, and fits in the palm of your hand. Seems cool to me. Can't wait to put it to the test!

News! (To me anyway!)

1) A bubble tea shop that has decent bubble tea has opened up close to home! Finally! Too bad it's so expensive: $3.82 for a tall bubble tea with tapioca pearls. (The only thing I miss about LA is their 99ยข bubble tea.) My waistline and my pocketbook are telling me this is going to have to be a treat and not a regular occurrence ;-)

2) Marco! The pool in my apartment building is uncovered! Not that I've ever felt warm enough to go swimming. Or that I have the slightest inkling where my swimsuit might be...

Golly what a day

Ah, sometimes its nice to escape for a few hours. This morning I hiked up to Lake Talapus and Lake Olallie. It was snowy, but I had on enough layers that I was never cold. It was enough to make a girl want to try snowshoeing, though!

More pictures from today's hike are posted here.

The Rides of March

I went for a 37-mile bike ride today on the Burke-Gilman/Sammamish River Trail. I started at Matthews Beach and rode out to Marymoor Park and back. Fun! But whew, I'm tired! I've posted pictures here.
