Snoqualmie River

Saturday morning the meteorologist on CNN said something along the lines of, "It's warm and sunny throughout the entire country this Memorial Day Weekend...except the Pacific Northwest...but hey, we can't all be happy!" Yes, it rained all weekend (Seattleite: "This isn't rain, this is water from the sky!"), but after two days of indoor activities I took advantage of Monday's relative dryness and went for a hike. I stayed at low elevation to avoid the snow and tested out my new gear: backpack (very comfy!); trekking poles (um, didn't last long before I decided they were annoying--I'll have to give those a try another day). I ended up walking 6-7 miles up the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River before turning around and heading back. Pictures are posted here!

Showing off

This weekend Dad and Grampa came to visit me so I spent Saturday showing off my state, and Sunday showing off my city!

A very pleasant weekend

Yesterday Ryan and I bought ourselves a brand new backpacking tent!

Look familiar??

Today it was windy and sprinkly with an occasional smattering of sunshine, so we decided to go on a tour of some parks on the East Side. (Some pictures here.)

Definitely a relaxing and pleasant weekend!

The last leg...

Today after work I biked from Mercer Island to Lake Sammamish State Park and back. (Pictures here.) I know I can get from Lake Sammamish State Park to Marymoor Park. I know I can get from Marymoor Park to Gas Works Park. I know I can get form Gas Works Park to my place. I know I can get from my place to Mercer Island. And now I know I can get from Mercer Island to Lake Sammamish State Park. Do you see where I'm headed with this? What are you doing for Memorial Day?
